Bukittinggi is a city in the highlands of West Sumatra, Indonesia, known for its cool climate, scenic views and colonial history. Here are some of the things you can see in the city center:

1. Jam Gadang: 26-meter tall clock tower from the Dutch colonial period, combining Dutch and Minangkabau architectural styles.
2. Lobang Jepang: a series of cave tunnels constructed by the Japanese army for military purposes during the Japanese occupation.
3. Fort de Kock: a fort from the Dutch period
4. Jembatan Limpapeh: a pedestrian bridge with Minangkabau architecture
5. Bukittinggi Zoo: one of the oldest zoos in Indonesia. Also features a museum of Minangkabau culture and architecture.
6. Janjang 40: a 40-step staircase connecting the upper market and lower market in the city center.
