Affordable Luxury Hotels in Langkawi below RM500

After months of being cooped up at home (or slogging away at work if your workplace stayed open throughout the MCO), the Langkawi Travel Bubble offers a much-deserved break.

As an advocate for budget travel, I would usually choose dormitory rooms over 5-star hotels. But I’m not entirely against occasional splurges on luxury rooms, especially if there are great discounts.

If you’ve got some surplus money to treat yourself and your loved ones, here’s a list of affordable luxury hotels you can choose for your island getaway. All of the hotels and resorts listed here are either 4-star or 5-star, with ratings of more than 7.5 on Booking.com, and best of all, less than RM500 per night!

1. Bayview Hotel Langkawi

Centrally located in Kuah town, Bayview Hotel Langkawi features elegant guest rooms with magnificent sea and hill views. It offers three dining options, an outdoor pool, and comprehensive wellness facilities, which include a fitness center, spa, and sauna.

Each spacious unit is air-conditioned and comes with a seating area, a flat-screen TV, and ironing facilities. The large private bathroom is equipped with a bathtub and a shower.

Flamingo Coffee House offers casual dining and buffet breakfast, while authentic Chinese cuisine can be enjoyed at Phoenix Restaurant. For drinks and small bites, head to Woodpecker Lounge, which opens till late. Langkawi Night Market opens twice a week and is located a mere 500 metres from the hotel.

2. Goldsands Hotel Langkawi

Also located in Kuah, the Goldsands Hotel Langkawi is only a 5-minute drive from Langkawi jetty. It offers air-conditioned rooms with a flat-screen satellite TV, floor-to-ceiling windows, a safety deposit box, and a mini-bar. The attached bathroom comes with a shower.

Other than the 24-hour front desk service, the hotel also provides laundry and dry-cleaning services. The staff at reception will be happy to arrange island activities for you, such as jet-skiing, boating, snorkeling, and island-hopping trips.
